About the Film
Hijo Aja Ka Kura is a warm, lively, and deeply felt portrait of family life. The film follows four families navigating the everyday challenges of finding partners, arranged marriage, and family dynamics, while reflecting on the Nepali dream abroad and contrasting it with the realities of life back home. Sharp dialogue, genuine humor, and spirited song sequences make this a thoroughly entertaining and meaningful watch.
The film features some of the leading artists of Nepali cinema and is produced by Pant Productions, founded by Santosh Pant — a legendary actor and director with over 50 film credits to his name. The story originates from his long-running television serial of the same name, which aired for 18 years, and has now been adapted into a feature film by his son, Sakar Pant, who studied film in Australia and has since screened the film in multiple countries to enthusiastic audiences.
