Rames Promyen, Vice President of the Office of Knowledge Management and Development (OKMD) and Acting Director-General of TK park, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) with Lt Gen Thitiwut Auamping, director of Learning Park of 2 Army Area’s Educational Center (SR Park) in Nakhon Ratchasima, to develop the SR Park into the province’s first full-fledged “living library” in the mould of TK park Bangkok.
Under the terms of the MOC, TK park and the2 Army Area will work together to manage the SR Park in a more efficient and sustainable manner. TK park will initially provide the facility with its copyrighted printed and electronic learning materials as well as helping to train the SR Park staff in selecting items, organising recreational activities to attract visitors, and so forth.
For 11 years, TK park remains true to its core missions to foster lifelong learning among youth and the public in general as well as developing Thailand into a learning society on a sustainable basis. So far, it has collaborated with local administrative bodies to create a total of 29 regional and provincial “knowledge parks’ in 24 provinces. The organisation suggests appropriate locations for building new learning facilities, provide books and other materials, and produce age-appropriate and locally relevant books for children. TK park continues to work to ensure that a public library at every TK park facility is “more than a library”.
